The City of Saratoga Springs will host a day-long session of topic-related meeting slots to discuss our current land use codes and identify possible changes as part of the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) project. Local residents, business owners and other interested stakeholder groups are encouraged to sign up for a topic discussion slot. The sessions will be held at the Empire State College, 2 Union Ave in the first floor meeting room on February 4th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., followed by an “open topic” evening session from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for people who weren’t able to attend during the day, or to cover additional topics. Interested participants should review the topic schedule below and sign-up for a meeting slot.
To Sign Up:
If you are interested in attending, please send an email to email@example.com (or call 583-4335) with the following information:

- If you are representing a particular community group or neighborhood, which one?
- The number of people from your group you anticipate to be attending with you, if applicable.

The purpose of this community meeting is to collect public input and suggestions on potential changes to the zoning, subdivision regulations and related development codes prior to the completion of a Zoning Diagnostic Report, a report intended to provide the focus for the draft UDO.
The meeting schedule is broken up into one-hour slots, devoted to general topics of interest. Multiple discussion tables can be accommodated for each time slot depending on demand. In the evening, an “open topic” session will be held for table discussions for people who weren’t able to attend during the day, or to cover additional topics. (Sign-ups are not required for the evening portion.)

The UDO project is an effort to update the local development codes and standards to align with the recommendations of the 2015 Comprehensive Plan and introduce initiatives which are aimed to improve the long-term health and sustainability of the city. Additional public meetings are planned for later in the year to review and discuss the draft code changes once they have been developed.
